AP: U.S. Supreme Court allows states to block funding to Planned Parenthood clinics
Years after ripping up decades of precedent to overturn Roe and wipe away abortion rights, the U.S. Supreme Court is continuing its cruel assault on women’s reproductive freedom. By a 6-3 vote, SCOTUS ruled to allow Republican lawmakers in red states to BAN Americans on Medicaid from receiving care at Planned Parenthood clinics.
The message SCOTUS just sent is clear: For the millions of working class women who rely on Planned Parenthood for services like cancer screenings and preventative care — their health, and their lives simply don’t matter.
This ruling isn’t just wrong, it’s inhumane and downright disgusting. And we should be better than this.
