When I ran for Congress as a first time candidate in 2018, I had never been in elected office before. But I saw how Donald Trump was hurting families, and I couldn’t sit on the sidelines while he engaged in corruption, destabilized our economy, and threatened our fundamental freedoms.
I was elected in a historic Blue Wave—including a record number of women—and I delivered on my promise of accountability starting in my very first year in Congress.
Now, with Trump in the White House once again, I’m running for governor to defend Californians against his harmful policies.
On all of the issues that matter to Californians, Trump is moving us in the exact wrong direction. His tariffs are making everything more expensive, including the materials we need to build more housing and bring those costs down. His attacks on our federal workforce will hamper our disaster preparedness and response. His chaotic and cruel immigration policies, including his disrespect for due process, make all of us less safe.
State governments will continue to be on the front lines of pushing back against Trump’s agenda. As governor, I’m going to bring my proven track record of oversight to hold the Trump administration accountable.
