[<[link removed] Policy Alliance>] More Winning From D.C. and Across the Nation [President Trump Signs One Big Beautiful Bill <[link removed]>] Dear John, Over the past several weeks, we’ve celebrated to major
pro-family wins at the Supreme Court – upholding state protections for children
from online pornography, from transgender surgeries and hormones, and for
parental rights in school curriculum – but that’s not all the good news to
share. Here are a few of the other major victories for your family—and families
across our country. The One Big Beautiful Bill Signed On July 4th, President Trump signed into law the One Big
Beautiful Bill Act, securing big wins for the pro-family movement. These wins
include federally defunding Planned Parenthood, an expansion and increase of
the Child Tax Credit with adjustment for inflation, an increase in the Adoption
Tax Credit, and a permanent federal tax credit for private donations to fund
K-12 scholarships, which is an entirely new tax credit for school choice, so
that families can choose the right school for their children.
Thank you for
your prayers and engagement to help make our country a better place to live and
raise children.
We are thankful for President Trump’s signature and, especially, for Speaker
Johnson's leadership throughout the budget reconciliation process Montana Family Foundation Takes the Fight for Life to the Courthouse [Holding a baby's hand <[link removed]>] A constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion into Montana’s state constitution may have passed in the ballot box last year, but our allies at Montana Family Foundation are not done fighting. Taking the fight to the courthouse, Montana Family Foundation is asking the court to invalidate the results on the grounds that its passage violated the Montana Constitution.
Here’s why: During the 2024 election, when the amendment was up for a vote, Montana failed to put the entire language of the amendment on the ballot. The ballot only contained a summary. Instead, the Montana Secretary of State had distributed a pamphlet to registered voters, which contained the full text of the amendment. The problem, however, was that anyone who registered to vote on Election Day was not given the pamphlet. This means that an entire voter bloc never read the full language of the amendment prior to voting!
We strongly support the Montana Family Foundation in their dedication to protecting preborn babies and ensuring Montanans are fully aware of the harm this constitutional amendment brings to their state.
A Massive Girls’ Sports Victory!
[Save Girls Sports in 26 States <[link removed]>] We are thrilled to see the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) finally recognize that [biological men don’t belong in girls’ sports <[link removed]>] ! This comes after UPenn reached a legal agreement with the White House. UPenn agreed it will strip Lia Thomas of his awards and records that should have gone to female athletes —including Riley Gaines—restore titles to these women, and apologize to those who were forced to compete against him.
Now, UPenn will protect women from biological men invading their spaces and recognize biological reality in their policies. This is an incredible win not just for affirming biological reality within our culture, but also for Riley Gaines, who courageously took a stand against Thomas and UPenn, becoming a leader in the movement to Save Girls' Sports. The tide is turning on this issue, and we are committed to seeing it continue across the country. In fact, the U.S. Supreme Court just agreed to hear a case, Little v. Hecox , in its next term that will decide the constitutionality of protecting girls’ sports in state law. We’re optimistic after an exciting term this year, with the Court affirming biological reality in the Skirmetti decision, but we ultimately will not know the outcome until next year. Together, let’s commit to praying for the Supreme Court justices as they consider this case in the coming months.
With gratitude and determination, The Family Policy Alliance Team
