Friend --

Today is Primary Day in three states: Kentucky <[link removed]>, New York <[link removed]>, and Virginia <[link removed]>.

There is much at stake in all three of these elections and we must make sure that every person we know in these states is making their voice heard today.

If you plan to vote in-person today, we want you to do it safely per COVID-19 hygienic guidelines:

- Wear a mask.
- Try to vote at a time of day when your precinct is less likely to be crowded. This is often early morning or mid-afternoon.
- Maintain a six-foot distance from other voters and poll workers, including if you’re waiting in line to vote.
- Wash your hands for 20 seconds before and after voting. Use an alcohol based hand-sanitizer if you can’t wash your hands right away.
- Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.
- Wipe down any polling equipment you use before and after you use it with anti-bacterial wipes.
- Some polling places will offer curb-side voting, where you can vote from your car. Call your county election administrator ahead of time to see if they offer curbside voting.

Last week we hosted our inaugural #BlackWomenVote 2020 virtual Sister to Sister Salon conversations across the 5 boroughs of New York City. It was a successful night of 32 salons with almost 500 people attending across the city. Black women from across the state voiced the issues that are most critical to earning their votes—amongst the top were:

- Reforming our criminal justice system
- Bridging the racial inequities in women’s health

Under the backdrop of a pandemic and amidst an uprising, Black women are mobilizing their family, sorority sisters, friends and networks to vote because now more than ever our votes, voices and leadership matter.

Check back at BlackWomenVote.com for all the 2020 latest news and for future virtual salon events across the country.

Onward,

Lakeila
