Message From Ted
Dear VCC Community,
We are living in an interesting time. Nothing is as it appears. I hold the belief that the challenges we face today are necessary for our awakening and maturing as a species. One of the many skills we are tasked to learn is how to engage in thoughtful action, especially with those we disagree with.
This week, Charles Eisenstein, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s former chief speechwriter, published a defense of Kennedy, arguing that critics are engaged in “ hysterical reactions ” and “ cancel culture .”
Joshua Stylman offers a different perspective ([link removed]) . Stylman writes: “ The fear of creating a counterpoint to RFK Jr.’s critics has given rise to hero worship — just as dangerous as the cancel culture Eisenstein warns about. Hero worship is antithetical to the very sovereignty MAHA claims to represent .
We must recognize our own role in the system and acknowledge that if the system is as corrupt as we say it is, waiting for one man to fix it is magical thinking. We need to engage critically, not passively. If the MAHA movement is real, it has to be from the ground up — everyone needs to take control of their own actions and their own discernment. Waiting for the cavalry to come will be our doom.
While Kennedy has obviously been a sparkplug and has done extraordinary advocacy and legal work over many years, MAHA isn’t RFK Jr. or his appointees — it’s millions of people reclaiming their sovereignty. The movement’s power comes from individual awakening and local action, not from political personalities.
It’s preposterous to think anyone is above criticism, whether their intentions are sinister or just misguided. True cognitive sovereignty means understanding our own minds rather than defaulting to personality-based thinking — whether that’s parroting The New York Times attack on Kennedy or worshiping at the altar of Bobby and “trusting the plan .”
Critical thinking, discernment and sovereignty is hard work. It’s much easier to find a hero and follow him or her. But if this time is about our own development, then the question for each of us is – what am I called to do today, and how will I do this wisely and respectfully.

B.C. Premier Pins Measles Surge on Anti-vaccine ‘Recklessness’ - A textbook case of disinformation.
In his June 25, 2025 message, British Columbia’s premier David Eby blamed the increase in measles cases on political leaders “ who’ve flirted with the anti-vaccine movement .” Eby added: “ I will encourage all British Columbians to ensure they are vaccinated. The Justice Centre ([link removed]) (JCCF) is pleased to announce that the 2025 recipient of the George Jonas Freedom Award is Dr. Frances Widdowson , a stalwart defender of free expression and academic freedom. Canada needs more academics within our institutions of higher learning like Dr. Widdowson who bravely stands up to mob rule to protect freedom of expression for future generations.
