For too long, middle-class Americans, working families, and small businesses I represent have been hurting from high taxes, rising prices, and skyrocketing living costs made worse by out-of-touch policies from Washington and Sacramento.

I secured an increase in the SALT cap to bring relief for hardworking Californians and voted to extend historic tax cuts to prevent a 17 percent tax hike on average for CA-40 families. I will continue to fight to make life in Southern California more affordable.

On July 3, the Post Office on 28081 Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo was officially redesignated as the Major Megan McClung Post Office Building. Major Megan McClung’s legacy speaks as loudly as her life and continues to inspire our community. 

While we can never truly repay her for her sacrifice, I am glad that we could get this bill across the finish line so that her legacy is preserved for generations to come in Mission Viejo. 

 RSM recently celebrated 25 years of community, connection, and cityhood! Thanks to all the vendors who made this event possible. I’m proud to fight for our RSM community in Congress and ensure it remains a great place to live and work. 

I was thrilled to celebrate 249 years of America and the freedoms we hold dear with our Tustin community last week.

Misophonia affects many Americans, including in our community. I was proud to lead a bipartisan resolution to help raise awareness of this serious condition and secure the research, resources, and care those impacted by Misophonia deserve.

People-to-people diplomacy is how we build relationships and ensure the United States is the partner of choice for allies and partners. The State Department’s Young African Leaders Initiative has proven to strengthen democracy, prosperity, and peace in the region while supporting young Africans making a difference in their communities. I thank Rep. Kamlager-Dove for working with me on this bipartisan bill to continue this important program.

We appreciate the Best Buy team for their work combating rising retail crime and creating jobs in the community.

I enjoyed meeting with leaders in the Tustin store to discuss tax, trade, and their mission to improve lives through technology.
