Empowering Main Street, Supporting Students, and Unleashing Energy
John,
This has been yet another week of results for Hoosiers, with Governor Braun
proving yet again that he can deliver on his promises.
The administration began the week by launching the Indiana Office of
Entrepreneurship and Innovation to help Main Street entrepreneurs start and
grow their businesses. Led by entrepreneur Brian Schutt, the office will focus
on small business support, innovation, and expanding resources across Indiana,
including rural and youth-focused efforts. This is a vital step towards
spreading the benefits of economic development to all four corners of the
state, with wage and job growth being the administration's central focus.
On Tuesday, Governor Braun celebrated major education reforms with a signing
ceremony highlighting universal school choice, increased teacher pay, more
funding for classrooms, and a new A–F accountability system to measure
student-focused outcomes.
On Wednesday, Governor Braun released a report detailing the state’s work to
eliminate divisive and discriminatory Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
initiative and replace them with programs focused on Merit, Excellence, and
Innovation (MEI). Following a 2025 executive order, state agencies have
reviewed and eliminated over 70 DEI programs and 200 related policies,
redirecting focus toward fairness and performance.
Governor Braun also celebrated key legislation to boost Indiana’s energy
production and reliability, including a major push for nuclear power. His
all-of-the-above energy strategy emphasizes producing affordable, reliable
power to meet growing demand.
As always, thank you for being a part of our team. Please feel free to reach
out if there's anything I can assist with.
Lana Keesling, Indiana GOP Chairwoman
