Email from Childrens Health Defense Restore Local Control Over Cell Towers, Protect Children’s Health     Dear John, We are thrilled to officially launch 704 No More™, a legal initiative led by Children’s Health Defense (CHD) and supported by over 100 safe tech, environmental justice, and children’s health organizations across the country. For decades, Section 704 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 has enabled the uncontrolled expansion of harmful cell towers in our communities – too close to where our children live, learn, and play. The way it stands now, Section 704: Gives the telecom industry the ability to install harmful cell towers and antennas right next to homes, schools, playgrounds, parks, and daycares; Strips away individual rights, property rights, and freedoms; Denies legal recourse to those injured by wireless radiation, leaving them without remedies and compensation; and Overrides traditional state police powers that allow us to protect our children’s health and safety on the local level. We believe this is unconstitutional and must be addressed. At its core, 704 No More™ is about protecting children from involuntary exposure to harmful RF radiation.
