Dear Friend,

Last week I voted a big 'NO' on President Trump’s Big Ugly Bill that will take lifesaving healthcare and food assistance away from millions of seniors, veterans, and working families. Earlier this year I suffered from a medical emergency and was able to access lifesaving medical care. Everyone deserves quality affordable care. Healthcare is a right.

There was nothing that could prevent me from standing up for South Jerseyans and their right to healthcare. You can count on me to continue fighting the Trump Administration’s attacks on our fundamental freedoms. I’m not backing down from this fight.

Voted Against Largest Cuts to Healthcare and Food Assistance in American History

Congressman Norcross stands with House Democrats in opposition to the largest cuts to healthcare and food assistance in American History.

I was grateful to have access to life saving medical care during my recent medical emergency. During my recovery, Trump and Republicans in Congress were working on writing the Big Ugly Bill. I remember watching news stories about how they were trying to rip healthcare away from millions of Americans, who, through no fault of their own, wouldn’t have access to the same care I was receiving. I’m lucky that I had access to what is arguably the best healthcare in the world, and everyone deserves access to that same care.

Secured $500,000 to Restore U.S. Revolution Historical Site in Camden

Congressman Norcross delivers $500,000 to the Camden County Historical Society for the American Revolution Museum of Southern New Jersey groundbreaking.

I fought to deliver $500,000 in federal funding to restore the Benjamin Cooper Tavern and turn it into a historical site that will help future generations learn more about our nation’s history.

The new museum aims to be open in time for the United States Semiquincentennial, which will be celebrated on July 4, 2026, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The museum will honor the values we fought for during the Revolutionary War of democracy, freedom, and justice, and feature exhibits on the Battle of Gloucester, as well as displays on the impact African Americans, Latino Americans, and Native Americans had on the American Revolution. Learning from history is essential to protecting the ideals that shaped our nation.

Honoring the Police Officers who Defended the Capitol on January 6th

Image

Three years ago, Congress voted to honor the officers who defended the Capitol on January 6, including members of the New Jersey State Police, and New Jersey native, Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, who later died following the insurrection.

I was on the House floor that day, and the violence and destruction that occurred taught us all how critical it is to protect our democracy.

Speaker Johnson is refusing to put the plaque on display. So, I put a replica outside my office. Their sacrifice won’t be ignored, nor forgotten.
