Hi, John, I'm Christina Bohannan. My friends at Blue Vision said I could reach out and introduce myself.

I’m a mom, engineer, law professor, and former Iowa state representative, and I'm running for Congress in the most competitive race in the country to unseat Mariannette Miller-Meeks. This race is already a toss-up and a must-win if we want to take the House majority back next year.

In the meantime, I want to tell you a little about who I am and why I'm running:

I grew up in a trailer in a town of 700, and neither of my parents graduated from high school. Every day, my parents got up and went to work, doing everything they could to put food on the table for our family. But when my dad got sick and his health insurance was canceled, my family lost everything, and we had to choose between household necessities and the care my dad desperately needed.

It’s thanks to hard work, teachers, and public education that I got a fair shot, becoming the first in my family to graduate from college. And it’s public education that drew me to the great state of Iowa, where I moved to provide my daughter with the quality schooling she would need to succeed.

For so many people across the nation, that promise of a better life is fading, and the priorities and values we hold dear are being cast aside in favor of political agendas.

I'm running for Congress because good people all over Iowa and the country have lost faith in our government. Party bosses in DC have been nothing but a rubber stamp for corporate backers and special interests, doing nothing to help everyday Americans.

We must take back the House and one of the best ways to do that is to flip Iowa's first district — and I know it's possible. Both Sabato's Crystal Ball and Cook Political Report have already called this race a toss-up and Mariannette Miller-Meeks is quaking in her boots.

Our 2024 race was the slimmest GOP hold in the country; we lost the race by just 799 votes! With hard work and the support of this grassroots team, I'm ready to close the gap and win in 2026.
