Recently, at our town hall, an Arizonan stood up and asked me, “How are you planning to advocate for federal policies that support cities like Phoenix with affordable housing policies?”

Housing affordability is one of, if not *the* most important issues that affects my constituents, especially young people who are worried that they’ll never be able to afford to own a home and pursue their American Dream.

We can and must do more to build housing and create more pathways to home ownership. That’s why I introduced the HAVEN Act, which will address housing affordability directly and bring relief to Arizonans struggling to put a roof over their heads. If you’re with me in this work to make housing more affordable, will you pitch in right now?

My legislation shifts the federal definition of affordable housing to be a smaller percentage of your income — finally taking into account the other necessary costs Arizonans take on month to month, like transportation, groceries, child care, and utilities.

Addressing our housing crisis will take big, bold solutions. With your support, I’m working to find them.
