On July 4, Ari Shaw, Senior Fellow and Director of International Programs, joined CNN’s Amanpour for a live interview to discuss how attacks on LGBTQ rights are tied to the rise in authoritarianism and how shifts in U.S. policy are shaping LGBTQ rights across the globe.

It's clear that the larger backlash against LGBTQ people, and trans people specifically, is not just about the community and our rights, it's about power.
