Trump claims Kristi Noem did a great job responding to the floods because he saw her on TV
Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem waited 72 hours before giving permission for FEMA to begin dispensing emergency relief funds to the Texans devastated by historic flooding this weekend, which is an absolute ETERNITY in disaster rapid response. This absolutely caused people to die and prolonged the suffering of survivors — and to make matters worse, while Texans waited, Noem was posting on Instagram asking her fans to vote on which cosplay portrait of her on horseback she should hang in her office. But none of that matters to Trump, who is convinced she did a great job because...she was the first person he saw on TV. “We were right on time. We were there — in fact, she was the first one I saw on television,” said Trump. “She was there right from the beginning, and she would not have needed anything. She had the right to do it, but she was literally the first person I saw on television.” None of that makes any sense, and if any other president had said something so incoherent and offensive about a disaster in which so many were killed, it would have sparked a media campaign demanding his resignation (anyone remember “"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job?”)But it's Trump, so it just gets waved away as Trump being Trump. But this man does not care about any of the people he's supposed to represent, does not care about whether the people around him are doing their jobs, does not care about any of the deadly mistakes and sadistic cruelties that his administration of narcissistic idiots and bigoted sociopaths will inflict on the American public. All he cares about is being happy with what he sees on TV. Heckuva a job, Noemy.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk claims Texas flood death toll "would not have been as high if it wasn’t for DEI"
Something truly awful has happened under Trump’s watch, so who will racist jackals like Charlie Kirk blame for the death toll? If you said Black people, you’re as correct is Kirk as repulsive. And if you think his “logic” is batshit crazy, you’re right again! You see, two and a half hours away from the flooding at Camp Mystic, is Austin, Texas, whose fire chief, Joel G. Baker, is Black. Kirk claims that Baker deliberately prevented Austin firefighters from responding to the disaster because he was too concerned about his budget and too focused on making the Fire Department "blacker." Nonsensical? Yep. Completely divorced from reality? Obviously. Mind-numbingly racist AF? Big time. But that’s what you get from these hateful MAGA mouthpieces who are determined to obfuscate where the blame really lies: with Texas state officials who failed to heed years of warnings and a DHS chief who was too busy posting on Instagram to deploy emergency response funds.

Freshman Democrat under ATTACK for standing up to the GOP
Nellie Pou for Congress: Nellie Pou has only been in Congress a few months, but she’s already facing a barrage of GOP attacks for voting against their destructive budget bill that would hand out huge tax breaks to the wealthy while RAISING taxes on working families. Just a few days ago, the NRCC issued an error-filled press release written by Big Business lobbyists that falsely smeared her with lies. She’s one of the few Democrats to win her seat in a county that voted for Trump; she’s going to need all the help she can get if we want to protect the MUST-HOLD seat and retake Congress. Will you chip in to thank her for doing the right thing and helping her weather the storm against GOP attacks?
Trump considered pardoning Epstein accomplice, feared what she could reveal, biographer claims
Donald Trump allegedly considered pardoning Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator and chief sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell during his first term after becoming “very wary” about what information she could reveal, according to journalist and Trump biographer Michael Wolff. Nothing to see here, folks. We've already been told that there were no other perpetrators. Those 150 girls who recieved payments from the Epstein victim compensation fund probably trafficked themselves. JP Morgan Chase paid out $290 million to settle a class-action lawsuit from Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse victims because they really wanted to help out young women. All those pictures of Trump and Epstein? It’s unpatriotic to even think about it. Yeah, case closed.
Trump nominates self-described "alpha male" influencer Nick Adams as ambassador to Malaysia
In an administration packed to the brim with the most embarrassing possible hires and nominations, this might truly be the worst of the worst. Full disclosure: until this news broke, the author of this newsletter was under the impression that this man existed solely as the face of a parody account on social media that mocked conservatism's fixation with hypermasculinity and bootlicking subservience to Donald Trump; but apparently Nick Adams is a real person from Australia who is now a naturalized citizen and apparently the next ambassador to Malaysia. Notorious for his obsession with the restaurant Hooters, Adams' posts have become a meme on social media for their complete lack of self-awareness and caveman-esque approach to, well, everything: “I go to Hooters. I eat rare steaks. I lift extremely heavy weights. I read the Bible every night. I am pursued by copious amounts of women. I am wildly successful. [EDITOR'S NOTE: he is not] I have the physique of a Greek God. [EDITOR'S NOTE: he does not] I have an IQ over 180. [EDITOR'S NOTE: LOL] I am extremely charismatic. They hate this," writes Adams in one of his more infamous posts. Adams is predictably outspoken about his Christian extremism and his hatred for Islam, which makes his appointment as ambassador to a nation of 35 million Muslims makes perfect sense. He will be disappointed to learn there are no Hooters in Kuala Lumpur.
Federal agents use chemical munitions on protestors, including officials, during immigration raid at two California farms
Trump's ICE thugs rolled into two California farms near Carpinteria and Camarillo with National Guard troops, humvees, masks, camo gear, and helmets and were met with a crowd of protestors, who they immediately showered with tear gas and other chemical munitions. “Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me ‘Newscum’ – but he’s the real scum," said a furious Gavin Newsom in response to the attacks. Congressman Salud Carbajal was present and was denied entry to the farm by ICE; Carpinteria city council member Mónica Solórzano was injured after a smoke grenade caused her to fall. “These militarized ICE raids are not how you keep our communities safe. This kind of chaos only traumatizes families and tears communities apart. They are also a gross misuse of limited resources and a betrayal of the values that define us as Americans" said Carbajal after the attacks. The raid was notable for one other reason — America now has its very own Tiananmen Square "Tank Man" photograph. Great job, Trump. A new low in thuggish cruelty and bigotry.
Ryan Walters, Oklahoma Department of Education partner with PragerU to vet teachers with "America First" test
Notorious MAGA zealot Ryan Walters is now going to be using far-right wing propagand outlet PragerU to help "vet" teachers for their adherence to the "America First" ideology, which will all but ensure that January 6th whitewashing, 2020 election denialism, climate change denial, slavery apologia, indigenous genocide denial and all other kinds of right-wing conspiracy theories will be pushed in Oklahoma's public schools. It's only a matter of time before he implements a "Trump Youth" program...possibly with brown uniforms?
ICE employee quits
The Atlantic reports that Adam Boyd, a 33-year-old attorney, quit the ICE legal department last month in protest over the fascistic agency's deliberate neglect of criminal cases in order to fill the arrest quotas ordered by Steven Miller. Boyd said that he had to make a "moral decision" and that "we still need good attorneys at ICE. There are drug traffickers and national-security threats and human-rights violators in our country who need to be dealt with. But we are now focusing on numbers over all else...It became a contest of how many deportations could be reported to Steven Miller." It's obvious that the people in charge at ICE have completely dehumanized the people they're relentlessly hunting and see them only as numbers on a ledger sheet, given the glee and gusto with which they've gone about their horrific orders.
Trump administration yanks $15m in research into PFAs on US farms
Trump is apparently going to make America healthy again by refusing to find out the consequences of filling our foods with microplastics.
Well, who didn't see THAT coming
And in other news
Hope...
