Governor Greg Abbott released a list of additional issues to be addressed in the Special Session that begins July 21, 2025. The issue of “Protect Women’s Spaces” has been added to the Special Session Call.
Having clear laws that protect the dignity, respect, and safety of both women and men is necessary. We are thankful that Governor Abbott has made this a priority for the special session he has called.
Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values said:
“Now is the time to act. Protecting women’s privacy was unfinished business in the regular session. A number of states already have laws with very specific language that men do not belong in women’s locker rooms, shelters, and prisons. Protecting women’s dignity and safety is a top priority for Texas.”

Texas Values helped lead the passage of Texas SB 10 this legislative session and the Ten Commandments are now permitted by law to be displayed in public school classrooms across Texas.
But it’s up to the people of Texas to help implement this new law—and you can play a vital role. For the Ten Commandments to be displayed, the poster or framed copy must be donated to the school(s).
With this tool, RestoreAmericanSchools.com you can select the school(s) in your area, purchase posters for just $1 each (including shipping), and follow a simple step-by-step guide to donate them to your local school and district.
If Texans across the state participate, we can ensure that the Ten Commandments are restored to every classroom in our great state. We encourage you to involve your neighbors, church small group, or family in this important effort. While adopting a school, please take a moment to mark "Texas Values" in the referral drop down menu so we can keep track of volunteer statistics! |

Special Guest Tim Barton President of Wallbuilders, discusses the impact of the Ten Commandments on our nation with Jonathan Covey, Director of Policy for Texas Values!
|
"If we’re saying you can’t mention God in government, then there can be no God-given rights, which is the whole premise of the foundation of America. What Phil King pointed out is that the 10 commandments has been a foundation of all our law in America. He said we should reintroduce this as part of the history and tradition of our nation.
People who are anti-God, anti religious, they want to keep this from being in front of students. John Adams said that our constitution only works for a moral and religious people…Freedom only works if you have a moral people because if you give freedom to immoral people all they’ll do is immoral things." ~ Tim Barton

A Century After a Man Was Convicted of Teaching Evolution, the Debate on Religion in Schools Rages On! |
One hundred years ago, a public high school teacher stood trial in Dayton, Tennessee, for teaching human evolution. His notion is still feeling the reverberations today. The law books record it as State of Tennessee v. John T. Scopes. History remembers it as the “ Monkey Trial.”
Mary Elizabeth Castle Director of Government Relations for Texas Values, is quoted in this interesting article in AP News. Read it here. |

At our recent Texas Values Fredericksburg Legislative Update & Benefit Lunch, we had the honor of presenting a donation to a local church supporting Hill Country flood relief efforts. As we gathered, the flag flew at half-staff in memory of the lives lost in the recent flooding. Our prayers are with the families and communities affected. |
