John, I wanted to make sure you saw our previous email about the 40+ dogs and puppies we helped to rescue from deplorable conditions in a NYC apartment. Many of the dogs from this case have gone on to find loving homes.

Just because these dogs are now safe, doesn’t mean the work is done. We continue to support the prosecution of this case and want to see justice brought to them. Help us reach countless other animals who need us now with your contribution today. We thank you for any support you can provide.

Sincerely,

Delia Kurland

Senior Director, Adoption Center & Feline Programs

John, it was absolutely heartbreaking. Dogs were found in cupboards … in closets … packed in tight spaces without access to fresh air or sunlight.

In early May, the ASPCA and Animal Care Centers of NYC assisted in the rescue of more than 40 large-breed dogs and puppies from extremely unsanitary and overcrowded conditions in a New York City apartment.

The dogs — ranging from young puppies to fully-grown adults — had allegedly never been outside before their rescue.

While many of these dogs were placed with partner shelters for adoption,

several remained in the ASPCA’s care for continued medical and behavioral care, and we are also supporting the prosecution of this case.

In fact, in early June, the defendant in this case was arraigned on a 96-count criminal complaint charging him with 48 counts of overloading, overdriving, torturing animals and 48 counts of failure to provide adequate food, water and shelter. If convicted, he faces potential jail time.

Shortly after working with Animal Care Centers of NYC to bring these dogs to safety, we partnered with them again to help rescue and transport more than 100 dogs from a hoarding situation in Brooklyn. You can help us reach more animals like these, save them from their suffering, heal their wounds and emotional scars, and find them justice.

Please give what you can today and help provide lifesaving care to more animals.
