Fellow activist,
We are halfway through the year and only 3 months away from November, so we wanted to reach out and give you an update about our programs.
Before we share more, will you consider supporting our voter engagement, civic education, and mobilization work by pitching in $25 now? ([link removed]
Throughout the year, NPP has hosted and joined community engagement events. This includes: town halls, educational webinars, and community conversations in our focused regions across the Commonwealth. Our goal is to include historically disenfranchised communities in the democratic process and provide critical civic education around the state judiciary and how court decisions impact our daily lives. NPP’s CEO, Kadida Kenner, has traveled across PA attending several speaking engagements discussing the importance of this year’s judicial election, specifically, the critical non-partisan retention elections of three PA Supreme Court justices.
NPP organized and hosted a four-part series, “Why Courts Matter Virtual Townhall,” from December 2024 to March 2025, where more than 100 people joined us in the Zoom room for each of the four events. Throughout these events, Kadida Kenner, discussed why our state and federal courts matter and provided 101-401 level education on how our state and federal courts work.
That’s not all: NPP has engaged our centered communities through digital platforms by creating and sharing content on social media (Facebook, Instagram, X, and Bluesky), as well as bi-weekly e-blasts. In April, NPP launched a podcast, “Slingshot The Podcast!”
In this podcast, Kadida brings her background as a civil rights advocate and former TV producer into each episode, offering fresh perspectives on civic engagement, justice, and power. Slingshot is where bold conversations meet culture, politics, sports, and real-world issues. We amplify the voices too often overlooked or misrepresented – voices that move the culture forward. Whether we’re talking policy or pop culture, this is unfiltered truth from the ground up. So far, seven episodes have been released. You can listen to the podcast here! ([link removed]
Looking ahead, NPP will be running a critical, independent expenditure Get-Out-The-Vote door-knocking program to turn out eligible voters in the 2025 November General Election. There is so much at stake in the upcoming judicial and municipal elections, and we will be on the ground working to reach as many eligible voters as possible and ensure that they understand the power of their vote.
Everything we do, from hosting town halls and shooting podcasts to knocking on doors, we continue to expand Pennsylvania's electorate. By engaging Pennsylvanians to be civically involved and encouraging them to turn out to vote twice a year, none of it would be possible without you.
We need your help to continue to fund these critical programs. Please help support our voter education and mobilization work by donating $25 or whatever you can today. ([link removed]
Together,
Team NPP
Donations to the New Pennsylvania Project supports our staff’s community engagement efforts including; organizing and hosting town halls, educational webinars, community conversations, and creating digital content, bi-weekly blasts and social media to reach the communities we engage year-round.
The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
