A well-funded campaign using celebrity faces and MAGA influencers is already flooding social media and Fox News demanding the president take up this flawed idea from the previous White House. We need your voice in the mix to make sure the President does the right thing and keeps marijuana in Schedule I.
Here’s what’s at stake if Trump goes forward with rescheduling marijuana:
Marijuana belongs in Schedule I because raw marijuana has no accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Putting it in Schedule III would open the door to widespread normalization.
Doing so isn’t backed by new FDA trials or rigorous research. The Biden plan was driven by politics, not science.
Placement in Schedule III would let marijuana businesses deduct advertising, marketing, even high-THC R&D expenses at tax time. That would supercharge an industry already driving rising youth addiction, mental-health crises, and ER visits.
That tax relief will attract corporate giants and illegal operators (including those with ties to the Chinese government) hiding behind the booming legal market. Our neighborhoods will pay the price in crime and public health costs, while Big Weed and our biggest strategic competitor profit.
