We paused raising money for True Texas Project because we wanted to focus on helping fellow Texans during a crisis: the flooding in Central Texas. 100s of you -- maybe even 1000s -- jumped in both financially and physically because True Texans rise to the occasion. I'm so, so proud of all of you. It was really an incredibly moving experience to make the call for help and have so many of you respond. When I thought I might be the only one showing up for manual labor in the Texas heat, you surprised me again and again -- and all with joyful, smiling faces! I just can't gush over you enough!
And we're not even done. Our donations are headed down the highway to the flooded areas, and we can go about our lives, but we all know the clean up and rebuilding will take months. This is why we are joining with Texas Heat (the same band that played at our gala), Rock & Brews (a restaurant with live music), and Mona Puente (our favorite dance leader) for a second round of donations. Get it on your calendar!
Now -- AFTER we've done what we can to help struggling Texans -- we can go back to ensuring True Texas Project funds ourselves so that we can continue to help Texans in need. As we advocate for lower taxes, protecting kids and the unborn, holding politicians accountable, training citizens how to engage in government, and vetting candidates who want our support, THAT is how we help Texas long-term. And we are very good at it!
So we've got this super fun fundraiser -- and it nails three objectives:
Celebrate the Texas we love by highlighting some of our favorite locations
Broaden awareness of our organization by challenging new faces to participate
Raise money to support True Texas Project in affordable increments
Wow! Not a bad plan, right??? We need ALL of you to participate! Here's how:
Pick a location for your selfie or video. What's a favorite place for you? Your home on Texas soil? A public garden? The Gulf? A river or lake? A historical landmark? Pick one!
Take a picture or make a video of you in that spot.
Tell us in the video or write words to accompany your picture explaining why you are a Red, White, & True Texan.
Donate $1 and include the link in your video or with your picture (bit.ly/ttpjuly2025).
Challenge someone else to do the same: image, donation, challenge. Be sure to call them out BY NAME and ask them to donate $1 and then make a challenge of their own.
Post it on all the social media pages you are on (Facebook, Instagram, Linked In, X, Truth, Gab, etc).
Tag True Texas Project in your post so we see it and can share it!
We want this to go viral, and we can't wait to watch your videos and see your pics! Even more, we can't wait for you to introduce us to more TRUE TEXANS!
Here are two that were created before we pulled this challenge to focus on the flood relief:
Chad Prather answered the challenge on Facebook!
Chris McNutt of Texas Gun Rights posted his on Twitter.
Where will you post YOUR challenge? And WHO will you name? Just remember to include the donation link!
Have fun with it! See you on the socials!
