As you may have seen, I just wrapped up a quick visit to South Carolina. Almost a dozen stops in two days, all across rural South Carolina -- places most Democrats don't visit. Thousands of people showed up.
But before I even arrived, we raised more than $160,000 for the South Carolina Democratic Party – almost all of it from smaller, individual donations. I was floored by the reponse. Thank you for that.
I went at the request of the South Carolina Democratic Party, because if Democrats are going to pass the kind of legislation we need to reverse the damage done by the Trump administration, we have to win in places Democrats haven't won in a while.
I talked about Trump's attempt to reverse the course of American history by taking us backward. America in reverse.
I shared stories about Trump's deployment of the National Guard and United States Marines in California.
I spoke to a crowd of almost 1,500 at a clergy convention in Florence, South Carolina.
I talked about Donald Trump and the Republican Party's betrayal -- their cuts to Medicaid, disaster relief, and nutrition assistance programs.
And, of course, we had to combat attacks from Republicans in South Carolina with the kind of FACTS they don't talk about on Fox News.
Look folks - We only get a short time on this planet, but in that time, we can do great things.
I chose to be active. To step up. That means showing up and delivering for people -- especially those who feel like no one has their back.
