John,

Last month, Kilmar Abrego Garcia was returned to the United States from his illegal imprisonment in CECOT – an El Salvadorian mega-prison.

Now, while he remains in detention on U.S. soil before his trial, he’s exposing his horrific experience:

Kilmar Abrego Garcia describes ‘severe beatings’ and ‘psychological torture’ in Salvadoran prison

While being held without access to his family or lawyer, Kilmar was:

On top of all that, the tattoos that Trump’s administration used as bogus evidence to justify his deportation were confirmed by prison officials to have no gang affiliation.

Kilmar was one of the 261 people the Trump administration deported to CECOT, and they likely are enduring the same brutal conditions in this foreign gulag.

This is what fascism looks like. It’s what happens when far-right power goes unchecked and weak Democrats refuse to fight back.

The truth is the political establishment wouldn’t save us. We need leaders who will do more to stand up for people like Kilmar and hold Trump accountable.

We have the power to stop this administration, but only through solidarity. We can elect a new generation of candidates ready to fight for everyone being targeted by Trump and his far-right regime.

Justice Democrats believes another world is possible, where our government defends human rights and dignity is not negotiable. Together, we can build it.
