Tucked into the Big Bad Betrayal bill that Donald Trump signed last week
was a provision that cuts Medicaid funding for nonprofits that offer
abortion services.
Make no mistake, this is their way of defunding Planned Parenthood.
And it’s not just an attack on reproductive freedom — it’s an attack on
the millions of Americans who rely on Planned Parenthood health centers
for critical services like cancer treatments and STI screening.
That’s why I was proud to stand alongside Governor Bob Ferguson just now
as he announced that Washington State will make up for those federal cuts
in the state budget.
And in Congress, I’ll be doing everything I can to reverse this cruel,
harmful policy while continuing to fight for reproductive freedom for
everyone.
Because they’re not going to stop with defunding Planned Parenthood. They
still want to pass nationwide bans on abortion, IVF, and birth control,
criminalizing personal health choices for everyone in every state.
