Dear A.,

Before departing the United States for Israel today following a week of high-level meetings in Washington, Prime Minister Netanyahu

attended a memorial service for Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, the two Israeli embassy staffers recently murdered in an antisemitic attack in Washington, D.C.

Prime Minister Netanyahu met with a bipartisan group of senators yesterday.

Before the meeting, Netanyahu said, "President Trump and I have a common goal. We want to achieve the release of our hostages. We want to end Hamas rule in Gaza. We want to make sure that Gaza does not pose a threat to Israel anymore. In pursuing this common goal, we have a common strategy... President Trump wants a deal, but not at any price. I want a deal, but not at any price. Israel has security requirements and other requirements, and we’re working together to try to achieve them."

Also yesterday, Netanyahu met separately with Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), where they "discussed the importance of keeping the Iranian regime in a weakened state until they change their behavior toward Israel and the region, and toward the United States," Graham said.

The day before, Netanyahu met with Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), who said following the meeting, "My meeting with Netanyahu was a great opportunity to discuss and congratulate Israel’s total domination over Iran and its proxies. I expressed my admiration for the sacrifices of the IDF, my support for bringing the hostages home and my hope for the possibility of true peace in the region."

The meetings came as hostage negotiations between Israel and Hamas continue.

Hamas continues to

refuse to accept the U.S.-backed offer on the table to release hostages in exchange for a ceasefire.

In a video message, Netanyahu

said that Israel is "currently trying to achieve the release of half of the hostages, both alive and dead, in exchange for a temporary ceasefire of 60 days. At the beginning of this ceasefire, negotiations will be entered into to end the war permanently. That is, a permanent ceasefire. In order for us to achieve this, this must be done under the minimum conditions that we have set: Hamas lays down its weapons, Gaza is demilitarized, Hamas no longer has any governmental or military capabilities. These are our basic conditions."

The United States must continue to stand with Israel and increase the pressure on Hamas and its sponsors in Qatar, Turkey and Iran to release all the hostages.

Houthis take merchant sailors hostage

The Yemen-based Iran-backed Houthi terrorists have

taken hostage some of the crew of the cargo ship "Eternity C" they attacked earlier this week.

"After killing their shipmates, sinking their ship, and hampering rescue efforts, the Houthi terrorists have kidnapped many surviving crew members of the Eternity C. We call for their immediate an unconditional release. The Houthis continue to show the world why the United States was right to label them a terrorist organization," the U.S. embassy in Yemen

GHF successfully tests new program as aid distribution continues

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has distributed nearly 70 million meals to Gazan civilians, including more than a million today alone.

GHF also successfully tested a new community distribution plan, where GHF will partner with local Gazan NGOs to distribute food to those in need.

"Under this program, local distribution begins when a community leader contacts GHF, either directly or through an NGO partner. The GHF team vets the community leader, assesses their need and coordinates the delivery of an initial number of boxes of food aid. The community leader collects the boxes at a predetermined location and distributes them to known members of their community. GHF verifies that all boxes are delivered to people in need using a list of aid recipients supplied by the community leader," GHF

explained .

"The goal is to scale the program across multiple communities while partnering with other local NGOs, ultimately delivering more than 20,000 boxes, or 1.2 million meals, per day in all regions of Gaza."

reports , Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the White House ahead of the U.N. General Assembly in September.

Reportedly, Netanyahu and Sharaa are set to sign a security agreement mediated by the Trump administration.

If the agreement is signed, it would be a potential step towards a normalization agreement between Israel and Syria.

U.S. delivers additional military equipment to Israel

The United States

delivered a shipment of D9 bulldozers to Israel yesterday, part of ongoing U.S. efforts to ensure our ally has the resources needed to defend itself.

Since the beginning of Israel's war against Hamas following the October 7 massacre, the United States has delivered more than 100,000 tons of military equipment to Israel on 870 flights and 144 ships, the largest air and sea supply operation in Israel's history.

Maj. Gen. (res.) Amir Baram, director general of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, said, "The shipment of D9 bulldozers is part of a broad-scale build-up effort, involving munitions and weaponry worth billions of shekels, which the American administration released and the Ministry of Defense purchased and transported to Israel. In recent weeks, we have received many ships and cargo planes in the country. We must continue to strengthen our force build-up to support all the IDF’s needs in the current campaign and in preparation for the coming decade."

The United States must continue to ensure Israel has the offensive and defensive weapons necessary to defend its people and strike back against its enemies.
