What we’re witnessing in Washington, DC and across the country is not a slow erosion of our democracy, but a trampling of democratic norms and institutions that have taken generations to build.
It will take generations to rebuild the strength of American democracy, and it will only be done through younger generations stepping forward to lead. That’s why we’re proud to support Black Advocates Action Fund, which is seeking to raise $30,000 to fully fund their Young Advocates Capitol Day 2025.
This fall, Black Advocates is bringing 100 young people ages 18 to 35 to Capitol Hill for trainings, meetings with 20+ congressional offices, and to build the lasting connections necessary to rebuild our democracy.
Their meetings on Capitol Hill will include an advocacy platform created by the young advocates themselves, centered around justice and economic equity. They’ll meet with and learn from civic leaders about how to use their personal learned experiences to shape policy today and into the future.
