It’s time to bring back the flannel, dust off those Doc Martens, and revisit the era that defined a generation. If 90s rock still lives rent-free in your playlists, this evening is built for you.
Join us at Venue 1012 this Saturday, July 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a double-feature tribute to the soundtracks of angst, rebellion, and unforgettable guitar riffs.
Loudernow | 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Start the evening with a high-energy tribute to the early 2000s punk and emo scene. From the soaring hooks of Taking Back Sunday to the infectious energy of Fall Out Boy, this performance is tailor-made for singing along at full volume—no shame required.
Grunge – The Sounds of Seattle | 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Next, take a deeper dive into the gritty, emotional core of 90s grunge. This set pays homage to Seattle’s legendary music scene, featuring the enduring sounds of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains. It's loud, it's unapologetic, and it's a must-hear for any rock fan.
Advance tickets are just $20 but will increase to $25 at the door. Secure your spot early and be part of a night that honors the music that shaped a decade. Buy your tickets today!

It’s almost time for Zone B’s curbside brush pickup, coming up on Monday, July 14. If you’ve been tidying up your yard, this is the perfect opportunity to gather together tree and bush branches under five inches in diameter and place them neatly at the curb by 7 a.m. on that Monday morning. Please remember not to put anything out before noon on Friday, July 11. Logs, root balls, stumps, grass clippings, landscaping debris or contractor waste are not eligible for collection and will result in rejection.
Residents should consult their Zone B subdivision guide to verify eligible streets and neighborhoods and ensure brush is prepared correctly to avoid delays or missed collection. Proper adherence to these standards ensures efficient service. For full details on acceptable materials and a complete list of Zone B areas please visit the village website here for more information.

The Oswego Fire Protection District and the Oswego Police Department invite Community Unit School District junior high students to a glimpse into the life of a firefighter and police officer. The academy is open to 20 junior high school-age students for a week of learning and fun.
The recruits’ training will be split between the Fire and Police Departments. On the fire side, the recruits learn forcible entry techniques, hose line and nozzle management skills, and even conduct search and rescue drills. On the police side, the recruits learn valuable lessons on daily officer activities such as patrolling, traffic stops, car accident investigations and a K-9 demonstration during training. The weeklong academy concludes with a lunch and graduation ceremony for the recruits on Friday.
The academy is free of charge with snacks and drink provided each day. This year’s recruit class will be held July 21 through July 25, 2025. For more information and application details, please contact the Oswego Police Department lobby or visit the Village of Oswego website.
This course is yet another example of the partnership between the Oswego Fire Protection District and the Oswego Police Department showcasing the dedication we all have to members of our community.
