Dear Friend,
We won a key battle today, but the fight isn’t over ([link removed]) .
This week, SAM Action celebrated the Senate Appropriations Committee’s historic inclusion of a provision to ban hemp-derived intoxicants like Delta-8 THC in the base text of its spending bill, closing a dangerous legal loophole that’s been flooding our communities with hemp-derived intoxicants.
That loophole came from an error in the 2018 Farm Bill. SAM Action then inspired Congresswoman Mary Miller to spearhead the fight to close it in the House. Ever since, we have assisted with building bipartisan coalitions to fight against these intoxicating hemp products.
Thanks to our grassroots army and generous supporters like you, we could educate the key senators, convene expert roundtables, and build the bipartisan coalition that made this win possible. We’ve brought parents from around the country to Washington to highlight this issue with their lawmakers and share how intoxicating hemp products have forever altered their families.
But there’s so much more to do. The full Senate must now adopt the bill with the Delta-8 provisions intact.
And once the Senate moves, we still need to see this language through to final passage by the full Congress, to help advance the fight to get intoxicating hemp products off of store shelves everywhere.
So click here to chip in $25, $50, or $100 ([link removed]) and help us LOCK IN this critical victory.

Every dollar you give multiplies our impact at this pivotal moment. Together, we’ll keep up the fight for public health, stay the course on educating lawmakers, finish what we started, and help keep all intoxicating hemp derivatives out of kids’ hands.
In partnership,
The SAM Action Team
