Dear John,
Humanity has seen some incredible golden ages, from ancient Athens, to Song dynasty China, to our modern era.
With open trade, growing individual freedoms, and so many breakthrough innovations, we've managed to raise living standards faster—and for more people—than ever before.
But golden ages aren't guaranteed to last.
If we're not careful, the very progress we enjoy on could slip away. History has shown us that when freedom is replaced by coercion, progress stalls—and sometimes crumbles.
The question we face now is simple but urgent: will we protect what we've built, or risk repeating the mistakes that ended golden ages past?
This week on Atlas Network's Freedom Worldwide webinar, Swedish historian and acclaimed author Johan Norberg joined our Dr. Tom G. Palmer to discuss the topic of Norberg's latest book, "Peak Human: What We Can Learn from the Rise and Fall of Golden Ages."
They addressed how golden ages rise, how they fall, and how we can avert the end of ours.
