Team, I’ve been pretty clear where I stand on this:

The bill that congressional Republicans just passed gutting Medicaid benefits, raising our energy costs, and giving a giant tax break to billionaires is an absolute trainwreck. I oppose it as strongly as I’ve opposed any piece of legislation while I’ve served New Jersey.

But listen, real leadership isn’t just opposing bad policies. It’s putting forward a positive vision for the future, and I’d like to talk with you about mine. And if, after reading this, it’s a vision you’re on board with, I am humbly asking you to pitch in a few dollars to help us win this race — because we’re in a tough fight here in New Jersey, and the first step to getting any of this done is beating Donald Trump’s handpicked candidate at the ballot box.

Everywhere I go across New Jersey, the most urgent concern I hear from folks is this: Everything costs too much. Republicans in Washington, D.C. are making it worse, and here in New Jersey, the GOP is too scared to stand up to their own party to do anything about it.

So I’ve made affordability the centerpiece of my agenda for New Jersey families.

I’ll start by going after the bad actors and special interests who drive prices up and sell our residents out.

I’ll stand up to health care middlemen who make your prescriptions unaffordable, the monopolies that hike up mortgage and rental prices, and the grid operators who continue to raise energy costs without accountability.

I’ll put innovation and common sense to work to drive real solutions to bring down housing, health care, and utility costs.

I’ll use every tool we’ve got to get more homes built for working families — allowing New Jerseyans to hold on to more of their paychecks and unlocking economic growth.

I’ll take bold action to invest in clean energy like solar, one of the cheapest energy sources to develop, so that we can increase energy independence and help families across the state save money.

I’ll work to make life easier for parents by expanding access to child care — and going after the large corporations that are jacking up food prices, so that consumers don’t keep facing higher and higher grocery bills.

And I’ll provide tax relief to working families, rather than billionaires, by working to expand the state-level Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit, implement a caregiver assistance tax credit, tackle the root causes of property tax increases, and close loopholes that corporate tax cheats take advantage of — so that we can pass the savings onto everyone else.

As our governor, I promise to spend every day working to make life easier for the working families across New Jersey who are struggling under higher and higher costs. If you’d like to see my vision for our state become a reality, then I hope you will pitch in what you can today and help us get our message out all across New Jersey — because that’s the only way we stop Republicans from flipping this seat.
