Speaking Out Against, and Responding to, the Reconciliation Bill
On July 2, Wendy Cervantes, CLASP’s Director of Immigration and Immigrant Families, spoke at a press conference and rally on the ground of the Capitol in opposition to the reconciliation bill. While the bill ultimately passed, Wendy’s inspiring and powerful remarks on behalf of immigrants, immigrant families, and U.S. citizen children are a necessary reminder that the fight for a more just and equitable society is far from over.

July 8 and 9 | Rachel Wilensky joined the Child Care for Every Family Network on the Hill. During training for the state advocates, Rachel presented on the harmful immigration provisions in the reconciliation package and how they will harm families and the child care sector. Rachel also joined a team of child care providers from Minnesota as they met with members of Congress and stopped by Congresswoman DeLauro’s office to thank her for being a child care champion.
