New Jersey electric companies will suspend shutoffs for non-payment from July through September for eligible customers.
Additionally, customers will receive $30 bill deferments on July and August electricity usage. The deferred fees will be spread out over six months beginning on September statements.

Student financial aid [ [link removed] ]
Several free webinars are taking place in July and August to help New Jersey residents apply for financial aid from the State if they are attending college in New Jersey in the 2025-2026 academic year. The deadline to apply for State aid is September 15, 2025, for any New Jersey student who did not receive a Tuition Aid Grant in the 2024-2025 academic year and will be going to college this fall.
Students and their families are welcome to join one of these webinars.

Be aware of scam texts and fraudulent sites that impersonate New Jersey State agencies.
For example, scammers pretending to be from the Department of Labor recently tried to trick people into providing personal information using texts with fraudulent links while stating that "your claim needs some more clarification."
The State of New Jersey provides details on incidents like these as well as recommendations on what to do if you receive a suspicious text message.

Thanks to increased rainfall, the drought warning has been lifted for most of New Jersey. The Coastal South region remains under drought watch. New Jerseyans should continue to conserve water because the drought status could shift again in part due to climate change. We can reduce our water use by as much as 30% by taking a few simple steps.
