God knows electric bills are high enough as it is (particularly during a hot summer like this one). Now, my Republican colleagues have added insult to injury.

President Trump's tax bill eliminates tax credits that lower the cost of building wind and solar, thereby increasing electric rates in every state. It's projected that energy prices in our state will increase by 5%, while rates in other states will climb as high as 18%. For the average Connecticut family, that's $344 more out of your pocket each month.

I know how energy bills put a strain on a family's finances. That's one (of the many reasons) that I was an adamant "NO" on President Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill."
