I can safely say July 3, 2025 was my toughest day as a member of Congress.
As a cruel and corrupt MAGA administration gets to slap a rubber-stamp Congress on the back for their reckless spending bill, many of us stand horrified by their promises to balloon the ICE budget, extend massive tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires, and shred the little support working families receive by gutting programs like SNAP and Medicaid.
But, in the shadow of the policies that we will all feel in our pockets, Trump and the MAGA administration has set their sinister plot to cripple the separation of powers in motion.
They're intimidating and harassing justices for stepping out of line. They're suing entire federal court circuits for protecting our constitutional rights. And now, they're cutting funding for the public defenders that would stand up for Americans who cannot afford it!
John, our nation, now more than ever, needs advocates in Congress that will protect our judiciary, protect the rights of Americans, and protect our Democracy.
That's why I am determined to continue my work to reform our Courts, reinforce the separation of powers, and protect the common good—and I need you to join me.
Today, will you spare whatever you can to help me continue my work in Congress to protect our families AND my work to support other progressives that will help us pass these measures?
