While I have been focused on maintaining public safety and combating the spread of COVID-19 in Maricopa County, I have not forgotten that our LGBTQ family, friends and neighbors are celebrating Pride Month. To everyone celebrating, Happy Pride!

I am proud of our commitment to equality at MCSO. That’s why I convened MCSO’s LGBTQ Advisory Board, which has helped update MCSO’s policies around LGBTQ inmates to ensure that everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

It’s also why I was proud to take the ONE Community UNITY Pledge to advance equal treatment for LGBTQ Arizonans, both within the workplace and in our community at large.



I am proud of the progress we have made to treat everyone with dignity and respect. It is part of our mission to continue to work collaboratively with the communities we serve.
