| Dear John, For years, we were told sanctuary cities didn’t exist in Georgia. The media mocked us. The Democrats dismissed our concerns. They insisted our communities were safe. Now, the truth is out: Georgia is facing a real crisis. Under Joe Biden, illegal immigration surged and sanctuary policies took root—even here in our own backyard. Athens, Atlanta, and other jurisdictions are openly defying federal law, putting Georgia families at risk. When tragedy strikes—when innocent lives like Laken Riley’s are lost—it’s not just the criminals who are to blame, but also the politicians who protected them. That’s why I’ve led the fight in the State Senate to hold these jurisdictions accountable, to strip away immunity, and to make Georgia the toughest state in the nation on illegal immigration.
