Friend: In a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a donation—that will be MATCHED up to $15,000—to Humane World Action Fund, formerly Humane Society Legislative Fund. But first, let me share two stories from the Horrible Hundred report, an annual report that puts the spotlight on 100 problem puppy mills across the U.S.:

At a fly-infested property in Illinois, a federal inspector found an enclosure with three puppies—and absolutely no water. When finally given water, the puppies desperately "climbed on top of each other” trying to get to it.

At another facility in Missouri, the owner was repeatedly cited by USDA for having thin puppies with scabs and flaky skin who received no veterinary care, a mother dog so thin her spine, ribs, shoulder blades and hip bones were easily felt, and yet none of the dogs were seized and the owner was never fined or penalized.

This isn't the first time we’ve heard stories like these, friend. The newest Horrible Hundred report proves that puppies and dogs are suffering cruel and dangerous conditions nationwide.

For years, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has uncovered violations like these time and again at puppy mills across the country, and yet these facilities are allowed to remain open and dogs and puppies continue to suffer. That’s why we need your support and action to pass critical legislation that will require better living conditions for animals at federally regulated puppy mills as well as provide tools to federal agencies to better enforce the Animal Welfare Act.

At Humane World Action Fund, we’re fighting for policy changes to tackle the root causes of animal cruelty and suffering—and put an end to animal abuse once and for all. But we can’t do it without urgent support from people like you. And now is the best time to donate since your gift will go TWICE as far.

Please, will you make a donation today to power our work to pass meaningful reforms like the Puppy Protection Act and the Better CARE for Animals Act and protect all animals from harm? Don’t wait because when you donate before July 31, your gift will be MATCHED—up to $15,000!
