About the job

This position supports Fleet Operations within the *Business Resources Division* (BRD) in its dispatch office by providing clean, safe, and reliable vehicles for customers to use at all the daily rental locations.  On occasions, when necessary, you will be using a state provided vehicle to drive to and from assigned remote and non-remote locations. The Equipment Technician 1 is expected to work with cleaning tools and solutions, as well as replacing small car parts such as light bulbs, and replenishing vehicle fluids. This position will also provide customer service and general assistance with customer education for the self-automated key box system, Fones Rd reservation systems, and WEX Fuel system.  

This position has been designated as critical under the *DES/Fleet Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) and Critical Positions*. The incumbent in this position is directly responsible for delivery of vital Fleet related services for Washington State Government. During a recognized emergency, the duties may be different from normal duties, and will be temporary in nature, lasting only as long as necessary to resume normal operations. The incumbent may be required to perform the following during a recognized emergency/disaster. 


* Report for duty on short notice for a specified timeframe.
* Report for duty outside of normally scheduled work hours and workdays.
* Report to duty station that is different from the official duty station.
* Perform work tasks outside the normal scope of duties reflected in this PDF.
