What a powerful and unforgettable day we shared at this year’s All-Ireland Rally for Life on Saturday, 5th July!

Once again, the streets of Dublin came alive with energy, colour, and purpose as thousands gathered from across the country to stand up for the dignity and value of every human life. From the crowds gathering at Parnell Square to the march through the heart of the city, the atmosphere was electric with hope, unity, and determination

With placards held high, “Life Will Win” and “Stop Abortion Violence”, the crowd moved together in a joyful, passionate display of solidarity, culminating in an uplifting celebration at Custom House Quay. Now in its 19th year, the Rally for Life remains more than an event—it is a movement, a family, and a beacon of light for those who believe in the power of compassion, truth, and justice.

The Rally overflowed with colour, music, and the joyful noise of families and friends standing strong together. Yet beneath the celebration lay a deep resolve: to be a voice for the unborn child, and to stand boldly against a culture of death.

Co-founders of the Rally, Bernadette Smyth (Director of Precious Life) and Niamh Uí Bhriain (Chairwoman of the Life Institute) stirred hearts and strengthened spirits, urging us to stay the course and never give up fighting the evil of abortion,

Bernadette condemned the Governments that are complicit in the murder of over 50,000 babies in the Republic of Ireland and almost 10,000 babies in Northern Ireland. She proclaimed, “We will never be silent until abortion becomes illegal and unthinkable in Ireland once again.”

International Guest Speaker Dr Haywood Robinson, a former abortionist who now seeks to bring the public and medical professionals to a deeper understanding of the harm caused by abortion, travelled from the US to address the Rally. He shared his powerful personal testimony of turning away from abortion and towards God. He said that abortion was not healthcare because one of the people entitled to care and protection – the unborn child – was being killed, and urged those providing abortion to think how they could better care for women.

Aontú’s Paul Lawless TD called out the failures of the government, saying: “No mother in Ireland should ever feel she has to abort her child because the government will not support her.”

Vicky Wall from Every Life Counts said that those working with families where the baby had a life-limiting condition had a message for Ireland and the world. “Every baby deserves dignity. Every family deserves support. And every life – no matter how short – counts. We will not stay silent when parents cry out for hope. Together, we will build a culture where no parent feels pressured to abort, and every child is welcomed and loved.”

Barrister Grace Sullivan, in a rallying cry to women, said the Rally sought to defend their right to support in pregnancy. She slammed recent legislation saying, “Those who promote and ringfence abortion claim to stand for the rights of women. But why is it tell me, that the so called “safe access zones” legislation does not have the courtesy to mention the word woman once amongst its provisions?”.

The Rally ended with Bernadette Smyth’s rousing call to action: “We will leave here today and re-commit ourselves ..We will run headfirst into this battle ..and we will stand firm, because God is still in control.”
