John, 

Gov. Greg Abbott has announced a special session of the state legislature to supposedly address the deadly Hill Country floods.

But in a move that's as shady as it is shameful, he just added redistricting to the agenda.

John, our governor should be directing the legislature to focus solely on improving the lives of Texans in this time of crisis, but instead he's using it as cover to do the political bidding of Donald Trump and House Republicans.

This district -- TX-33 -- has been explicitly called out by Trump's Department of Justice in a letter to Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton as needing to be redistricted!

Donald Trump is literally targeting this seat because he wants me out of Congress so he can install another Marjorie Taylor Greene!

Abbott is opening the door for Republicans to gerrymander me out of Congress, just because I've spent my career standing up for working families, voting rights, and the diverse communities that make Texas strong.

We can't let them get away with it.

This is a district that was drawn to empower voters of color in North Texas, and Abbott is hoping you won't notice he's trying to silence those voices while our state is still reeling from tragedy.
