Dear MoveOn member,
Historic flooding has devastated communities across central Texas, submerging homes, stranding families, and prompting widespread evacuations.
Tragically, the flooding has taken lives, and dozens remain unaccounted for.1
World Central Kitchen, founded by Chef José Andrés, was one of the first organizations to mobilize and respond on the ground. Within hours of rescue operations beginning, World Central Kitchen was on the scene, providing thousands of meals to families and first responders across the region.
But the need is immense and growing. World Central Kitchen must expand its operations to meet the growing demand for meals in the days ahead—and they can't do it without us.

When disaster strikes, World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team mobilizes to the front lines—with urgency—to start cooking and provide meals to people in need.
Here’s just some of the extraordinary work they’ve done in Texas in the past few days:
-
They reached children and staff at summer camps in the area, who were then safely evacuated after receiving meals.
-
They are providing hot meals at reunification centers where evacuees are gathering to reconnect with loved ones.
-
They are providing comforting meals to families who are grieving loved ones who have been lost or are missing.
-
They are ensuring displaced families who are sheltering in hotels are being fed.
-
And they are powering the long hours first responders are putting in in the search zone by ensuring rescue crews are eating healthy and hearty meals.
Will you rush a tax-deductible donation to World Central Kitchen right now? Remember, 100% of your donation will go directly to World Central Kitchen.
This catastrophic flood highlights the deadly results of the climate crisis—and comes at the same time as the federal government is cutting programs and staffing at NOAA and the National Weather Service that help communities prepare for and respond to such disasters.
But even then, we are not powerless. We can make a difference, together.
MoveOn members like you have generously supported World Central Kitchen’s efforts to deliver critical aid to disaster zones.
After the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, MoveOn members rushed hundreds of thousands of dollars to World Central Kitchen to provide meals to impacted families. After Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, MoveOn members came together to raise more than $1 million for World Central Kitchen to provide fresh meals to people forced to flee the invasion, inside Ukraine and in neighboring countries. And MoveOn members donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to World Central Kitchen’s lifesaving emergency food response efforts to Benjamin Netanyahu’s war in Gaza.
Now, we must come together once again. This time, for the survivors of the devastating flooding in Texas.
Please, will you make a donation right now to World Central Kitchen’s efforts to provide fresh meals to communities in need in Texas? 100% of your donation goes straight to World Central Kitchen and is tax deductible.
Thanks for all you do.
