Last week, a sweeping budget bill passed both chambers of Congress and was signed by President Trump. 

There's a lot to dislike in the bill, but it could have been worse. 

Thanks to public pressure, the final bill did not include provisions to weaken court authority and a decade-long ban on AI regulation at the state level. That's no accident. That's the power of collective action.

When we act together, we can shift outcomes. This democracy belongs to us, and we're here to protect it.

Even though this bill has been approved, there's still more we can do to protect democracy.
