Starting this week, we’re launching Swing Left’s “Most Flippable Districts” series, where we’ll be highlighting key Republicans on our target list who we need to defeat to take back the House in 2026. Today we’re taking a look at GOP Rep. Derrick Van Orden in WI-03.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Hi John,
There are a lot of reasons to fire Republican Rep. Derrick Van Orden in 2026, but here’s one of the biggest.
When he heard that Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” would strip health care from 17 million people, take school meals away from 18 million kids, and end food assistance for another 3 million people, he literally celebrated on Twitter:

Making things even worse, Van Orden is now claiming he “helped secure” $1 billion per year in new Medicaid funding for Wisconsin—which the governor’s office immediately denied.
The good news is that this is a seat Democrats absolutely can win back. Van Orden won by less than 3 points in the last election, making WI-03 one of the most flippable Republican-held districts we’re targeting in 2026.
But flipping a seat like this takes work, and that work needs to start now. In closely contested districts like this one, early investments in organizing make an enormous difference.
That’s why we’re asking you to [make a donation of any amount that makes sense for you to the 3 To Win Fund today.]([link removed])

The midterms may seem far away, but it’s critical that we start organizing and building momentum now in order to see it pay off next November.
In April 2025, Cook Political Report moved this district from Lean Republican to Toss Up. And In the April 2025 special election, Susan Crawford won the District by 7.5 points, per data crunched by election analyst Drew Savicki. That’s a 15-point swing from Democrats’ margin in 2024!
With just 3 seats needed to flip the House, it’s safe to say this race could be the deciding factor for who holds the Speaker’s gavel after the midterms.
So if you can, please [donate to the 3 To Win Fund today]([link removed]) so we can unseat Republicans like Van Orden, flip the House, and put a critical check on the MAGA agenda in 2026.
Thanks for everything you do,
The Swing Left Team
