Last Thursday, when Donald Trump paid a visit to Iowa after Congress passed the big, bad, budget-busting bill, Iowans showed up to protest.

We showed up to call out Joni Ernst, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Zach Nunn, Randy Feenstra, and Ashley Hinson for passing a bill that cuts Medicaid, drives up energy costs, and endangers rural hospitals.

We showed up for the 106,700+ Iowans who will lose their health care while billionaires get tax breaks.

Every Iowa representative who voted in favor of this bill betrayed their constituents. They were told what the consequences would be – and they did not listen. 

Miller-Meeks, Nunn, Feenstra, Hinson, and Ernst all deserve to lose their jobs for leaving their constituents in the dust. Fortunately for Iowa voters, they’re all up for reelection next fall.

Iowa Republicans promised they would not pass this kind of bill last fall. THEY LIED. That’s why IDP is protesting, training volunteers, and communicating with voters in every corner of the state. This isn’t just politics, it’s a matter of life or death for thousands of Iowans.
