All Riders (2022)
What does it mean to navigate a world not built for your body? This collection of films exploring disability examines how people create paths toward belonging, love, and autonomy in systems designed to exclude them.
A blind, undocumented immigrant pursues his dreams through experimental cinematography that reimagines film accessibility itself, while a filmmaker born with a rare condition searches globally for others who share her embodied experience. In New York City, disabled subway riders fight daily battles for transportation equity, as an autistic artist uses vibrant paintings to transcend communication barriers and share his unique vision. Through magical realist imagery, a couple explores the depths of life with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, finding beauty in adaptation, while across the ocean, a paralyzed young man transforms his daily care routines into heroic manga adventures with his brothers.
These powerful stories reveal the creativity, persistence, and interdependence that flourish when people refuse limitations imposed by ableist structures. Through both struggle and joy, they demonstrate that disability isn't just about what bodies can or cannot do—it's about reimagining what's possible when we center the wisdom of those who move through the world differently.
