My Airport Experience

Sometimes we have to be reminded that God is in control and has plans for us that we could never imagine. Recently, as I was returning home from D.C., I experienced flight issues in Atlanta. Due to delays, I shared a ride first to Birmingham and then to Jackson with my friend Scott Newton, four members of our National Guard - Brandon, Jessica, Blair, and Darreon, who were returning home from Europe - and Lily, a 16-year-old girl who was stranded in Atlanta. While my path home was unexpected, it allowed me the opportunity to meet some amazing people and gave me a great story to share.

Condemning the Attacks on our Border Patrol

All Americans should condemn the attacks on our men and women of law enforcement. These assaults are not political statements, but instead are heinous criminal acts that must be stopped. Those involved should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The left has encouraged these attacks by failing to support our law enforcement officers as they work to keep us safe.

Our U.S. Border Patrol agents put their lives on the line every day to protect the homeland and enforce our nation’s laws. All the while, radical anti-law enforcement rhetoric has led to a 700% increase in attacks against ICE agents, CBP’s partners in immigration enforcement. This dangerous rhetoric from the far left jeopardizes the safety of our men and women in green. Violence against law enforcement will not be tolerated. The Committee on Homeland Security is in close contact with the Department of Homeland Security concerning this attack on our law enforcement, and will support the FBI’s investigation into the individual responsible and their motives. I am grateful for the swift action of federal and local law enforcement to neutralize the attacker, and I pray for the health and safety of the agents and officers involved.

Supporting President Trump

Since taking office, President Trump has issued executive orders that protect our freedoms and liberties and undo the damage caused by the Biden-Harris Administration. I am proud to co-sponsor legislation that would codify many of his executive orders. See what I am doing to support President Trump and make his Executive Orders permanent. I am honored to co-sponsor legislation that will codify Trump’s Executive Order to restore free speech in America; that supports the President’s actions to dismantle the woke ideology of the left and stops needless spending on divisive DEI programs; that supports the President’s actions to protect life and to ensure that no taxpayer dollars are used to pay for abortions. See below the Executive Orders and the corresponding House Bills.
