Last week, the U.S. Senate and House passed President Trump’s big, bad bill that is going to rip away health care from 16 million Americans and cut SNAP food assistance by 20%.

Every step of the way, I fought against and rejected this bill.

Children, people with disabilities, seniors, and veterans are going to lose their health care. Kids and seniors are going to go hungry. Hospitals are going to close. 

All the damage this bill will do is because of Republicans, who met in the middle of the night to hide the details of the bill from their constituents. Their goal is to stuff the pockets of billionaires rather than prioritize the needs of the American people.

I held townhalls across the district ahead of the vote for this bill, and every discussion I had with my constituents was about what would happen to them as a result of this bill.

I’m a fighter, and I’m not backing down when it comes to protecting the rights of working men and women of this country. Everyone deserves access to health care and affordable meals, and they shouldn’t have to live paycheck to paycheck because politicians are helping billionaires over their constituents.
