I’m excited to share the news that the AFSCME District Council 33 strike is over.

An agreement was reached to provide an equitable contract. Now, our city’s essential services, from trash collection to 911 dispatch, can resume. With this step, we’re closer to ensuring our city’s families can use essential community-building spaces such as our public libraries and pools.

These employees are the backbone of our city. It runs because of. They maintain our streets, keep our public areas clean, and serve our communities. Without them, the Philly we know and love would not exist.

I am happy that with this agreement, families across Philly can thrive.
