After almost ten long years of conspiracy theories, it was finally happening. Trump had the goods. Patriots were in control. Epstein-pilled Kash Patel was in charge of the FBI. Pam Bondi had the legendary list of archpedophile Jeffery Epstein’s clients *on her desk.* The pedophile cabal that Trumpworld had been obsessing over for so long was FINALLY going to be unmasked, arrested and taken to Guantanamo or cloned and executed or whatever preposterous nonsense these delusional, unhinged conspiracy theorists thought was going to happen. Then came the inevitable rug pull. Time to log on…

Out of the blue, the Trump administration announced that there would be no Epstein files released, there was no evidence of any other perpetrators, and the case was closed. MAGAworld was furious:
“[Pam Bondi] needs to resign. The American people and MAGA base will not tolerate being lied to,” tweeted Laura Loomer.
“We have to take these apparatuses down!” said Steve Bannon about the federal law enforcement agencies.
“How can people be expected to have faith in Trump if he won’t release the Epstein files?” asked Elon Musk.
Obviously, the answer is that they shouldn’t, because he couldn’t give a single fuck. The Epstein rug pull is the ultimate distillation of the absolute contempt that Trump and his team have for their voters, which they made clear just two days earlier by kicking millions of MAGA Americans off their health coverage and shuttering the hospitals that keep them alive.
The idea that Trump, who himself is a longtime Epstein associate and serial sexual predator, or Pam Bondi, the woman who signed off on Epstein’s original sweetheart prison deal that allowed him to keep molesting girls from house arrest, or Elon Musk, who was friendly with Epstein’s sex trafficker, Ghislaine Maxwell, and whose brother had a girlfriend procured for him by Epstein, or any of the other fucking criminal scumbags and rapists in the Trump administration would actually release anything related to the Epstein case is beyond laughable. Tizzyent breaks it down:
But Trump was able to seize control of the narrative by weaponizing an intangible, unfocused, and incoherent - yet very real - feeling among the American people that they are being exploited, disenfranchised, and victimized by mysterious forces far beyond their control.
Ironically, in many ways they are. We’re all being manipulated right now by Trump, the billionaire oligarchy, and a political system designed to insulate the servants of oligarchy from accountability. But Qanon, the Epstein Files, the 2020 election denial conspiracy, Great Replacement Theory - all these things provide an explanation and a scapegoat for the economic hardships imposed by corporate America and the general enshittification of American society.
If we’re ever going to restore sanity to this country, Democrats need to provide their own counter-narrative, name their enemies, and have the courage to provide solutions that people can believe in.
