This is unbelievable, John.
While Putin is escalating his war in Ukraine and his attempt to usurp land, our commander in chief, Donald Trump, just admitted he had no idea that his own administration had paused weapons shipments to Ukraine.
Let that sink in: While Ukraine is fighting for its survival against a brutal Russian invasion, the President of the United States is either clueless about his policies or lying about abandoning a key ally.
This kind of chaos and incompetence has real consequences. Innocent people are dying in Ukraine. And while Trump has claimed to restart the flow of some munitions to Ukraine, that is just the start to what we need to see.
Every time Trump signals weakness or confusion, it emboldens Putin to go even further. America does not abandon its allies. We do not look away when dictators try to redraw borders by force. And we do not stand idly by while democracy is under siege — here or anywhere.
The truth is, Trump has never cared about Ukraine — unless it benefits him. I saw this firsthand nearly six years ago when I blew the whistle on his abuse of power. He threatened to withhold military aid unless President Zelenskyy helped him smear his political enemies.
I refuse to let us abandon Ukraine and leave it defenseless. I am going to lead this fight, but going after Trump — again — puts an even larger target on my back. He and his allies are already plotting their revenge. I need to know you’ve got my back in this fight.
