Last week marked one year since the Supreme Court ruling in Johnson vs. Grants Pass made it easier to make it a crime to be homeless. In the past year, over 320 cities have passed backwards laws that make homelessness worse. In the face of these challenges, our movement is more determined than ever and advocates across the country have defeated nearly 80% of statewide anti-homeless laws across the country.
While this year has been hard in so many ways, we are also grateful for the advocates and leaders across the country working to end homelessness. We invite you to celebrate the strength of the movement with us!
Save the Date to join us on Tuesday November 18th
in downtown Washington D.C, as we honor the outstanding advocacy and leadership of those who help create a world where everyone has a safe place to live.
Announcing this year's Pro Bono Honoree
Today, we are pleased to announce that the 2025 Pro Bono Awardee is the law firm of Covington & Burling. We are recognizing them for their thousands of hours of pro bono services to the Law Center over the past many years. This year, the firm has stepped up and provided exceptional research, guidance and support to the Law Center and several of our partners, as we navigate the unprecedented attacks on the rule of law and the
very nature of non-profits' ability to operate. We hope you can join us on November 18th to celebrate Covington & Burling!
This year’s additional prestigious recipients will be recognized with the Stewart B. McKinney Award, Bruce F. Vento Award, along with State and Local Legislator Awards.
Stay tuned to learn more about this year’s additional honorees and how to register!
