Just this past weekend, I had the opportunity to speak at the Youth Civic Union, an event hosted by high school students for high school students that seek to educate young people on local government. I spoke about my journey from a young person who wanted to make a difference to the first Gen Z elected official in the United States, and what inspired me to run for Congress.

I also marched in the 4th of July Parade in Skokie, accompanied by community members riding along in their truck playing mariachi music. IL-9 is full of many different cultures, backgrounds, and talented people, and my campaign will continue to highlight the incredible people of this district.



Since I launched this campaign, I have been on the ground in the district meeting people face-to-face and having conversations with those I aim to represent in Congress. It has been incredible to be able to meet so many people from so many different walks of life and to hear their vision of how we can improve our country. 



This is what campaigns should be about, not manufactured soundbites or made-for-TV attack ads. Politics has become performative, but it doesn’t have to be. We can build something different, something better. My campaign is about showing up, telling the truth, and doing the work. We’re running a people-powered campaign that is rooted in community, not special interests.
