Hi

We’ve been asked to help a family whose baby boy was born 13 weeks premature and had to be airlifted to a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in Melbourne.

Mum and Dad had to drop everything and head to Melbourne, away from all their friends and family to spend a long and gruelling 12 weeks in and out of the NICU. Life has come to a standstill.

Having a premature baby was hard enough. What happened next is unbelievable. While this couple were in Melbourne by their baby’s side, their home was burgled. They were left with nothing.

This family needs our help urgently. They are finally returning home with their new baby and their Maternal Child Health Nurse has asked we provide the essentials they need - a pram, linen and clothing bundles, toiletries and nappies.

It costs us on average $126 per baby or child to provide them with everything they need. It’s incredibly cost efficient when you think of how many items we give to families throughout the year.

Will you support today with $126 to provide a family in need with a bundle full of all the essentials like a cot, pram, car seat, warm clothing and nappies?

Please donate $126 now to support a family in need [[link removed]]

Can you even imagine what this family went through? They barely had the chance to prepare for their baby before their lives were turned upside down when they had to leave for Melbourne. And to think that most of the items they had for their baby were stolen or damaged really breaks my heart.

Thank you for helping to ease some of the stress and financial pressure for families in these terrible situations.

When a Mum opens a bundle from Geelong Mums, we know it makes her feel like someone is looking out for her and her baby, that someone cares and understands. Straight away she can put her baby into a lovely soft onesie, or go for a walk with her new pram. Most importantly she knows she is not alone.

We need to continue providing #therealbabybundle. Our promise to these families is that we will give them the essential items they need for their situation.

We will speak with their social worker to ensure they are getting a cot that fits their accommodation, a pram that’s easy to use on public transport or can transport older siblings too, a car seat that has been thoroughly safety-checked and cleaned, and a clothing bundle that has more than 100 items to see the baby through all seasons.

The great thing is that you can help a family today for just $126 [[link removed]]

Last year, we helped 20,403 babies and children in Victoria. Each one of these families has their own unique story but all of them have one thing in common. They desperately need your support.

Please help today so we can provide #therealbabybundle to families in crisis.

Warmest regards,

Julia Roache
